Distressed Real Estate Market Business

Friday Jul 24, 2009

I don’t have to tell you that the real estate market is going through challenging times. We have had a foreclosure or 2 on our street, though it there is anything about living in a modest neighborhood, it’s the fact that people don’t tend to over-extend themselves and are forced to live within their means…so those of us who have been living modestly and simply all along know how to survive during times like this.

Many are learning to work the real estate market as it is in their favor. I know some who are getting distressed market training so they can help buyers and sellers to make the most of their purchase.

I know others who know how to buy and sell properties with little money of their own, I don’t know how they do it, but if this is something that interests you, maybe the information available if you  click this link may be useful to you.  Check and see if the tools provided might help, and whether this might be a way for you to bring in some income.

Features WAHG: Selling on eBay

Saturday Feb 14, 2009

Today I thought I’d share one of the ways that I make income at home.

I have been selling on eBay for years on and off to bring in a part time income, and find it a fun and rewarding way to supplement your income, because I am selling things that interest me. You don’t have to do this as your primary business, but there are many that do.

I did what they call a “lens” on Squidoo called “Selling Old Books, Paper & Ephemera“, because that is what I specialize in, but the information is helpful to anyone who is interested in beginning with eBay.

Following is an article with information about a training program for those who may be interested in doing this in a bigger way.  The prices may have changed depending upon when this article was written.

A Review of the Sky High Auctions Ebay Power Sellers Course

By: Brian Garvin

They must be doing something right because a small number of Ebay power sellers made over 11 million dollars last year. Yes, that is right, over 11 million dollars. Sky High Auctions has come up with a plan for creating power sellers that can make money if they go by the plan designed for them. Well, who is group that is so good at teaching others how to make money, you ask?

Sky High Auctions is a group of Ebay power sellers with experience in earning money from online auctions on Ebay. It is credited with the following steps that will make you a power seller too. Therefore, if you are tired of working your life away for someone else, you should take a close look at the courses that have been developed for teaching how to get the maximum income from your Ebay selling.

What Do The Courses Do for You?

1) They teach you the precise products that you should sell for the maximum return.

2) You will learn how to source these products.

3) A course includes how to get your customers to purchase your products over and over.

4) A tutorial on setting up your own website from which to sell your products will be another benefit of these courses.

5) You need an auto responder to save you time and money by answering your emails as they come in. so that your customers will not think that you are a stranger.

The power sellers that make up the Sky High Auctions group come from all over the world. They each have an area in which they are experts. Fifteen members have created the course that shows an ordinary person how to create an income they can be proud of.

Here is a fact that should give you plenty to think about. The fifteen power sellers who started the Skyline Auctions group have made $4 million this year. This is only the second year they have been operating and selling on Ebay.

Since there are over 800,000 sellers on Ebay making either a full time living or part time, this fact is not surprising. Now this company has realized that some people are not going to believe that it is possible to make the amount of money that is being claimed. That is why if you go check them out, read the testimonials, and still you do not believe, they are offering free lesson, 6 of them to show you some of the ways you can make money on Ebay.

This website explains the importance of some items that you must have to be successful at selling your items on Ebay. Like for instance an auto responder as mentioned above. The necessity of having an auto responder is that it can do in a few minutes what it may take you hours to do. Plus, you do not need to be tied up for hours responding to email if you are going to be concentrating on making money.

The Skyline Auctions group promises that you will be satisfied with your purchase and if not they do have a refund policy of 100 money back if you are not. At the present time, this program is selling for $267, which is down from the regular price of $497.

Biz Opp Review: Ecoquest, formerly Alpine Air

Monday Dec 29, 2008

I have 2 air purifiers that I love, both are several years old, and were called “Alpine Air” purifiers. Since, I believe the company has changed names, and I have been trying to track down someone who might be able to help me get one of my purifiers repaired.

Following is a review of the business opportunity, with an ulterior motive of, perhaps, getting someone to contact me through a comment (they are moderated) letting me know you might be able to help me. You also may know some things about the company that you can add, this is just one man’s opinion, I don’t agree with everything.

A Review of the Ecoquest Income Opportunity

By: Brian Garvin

The company is a manufacturer of the Ecoquest Air Purification system. This system claims to relieve breathing problems such as asthma and allergies and other breathing difficulties. The technology of this air filter is somewhat the same as any other air filter, but this one has a carbon filter and a ultra violet light ionizer source.

The main advantage of the UV source, they claim, is that the UV is able to kill microorganisms and bacteria in the air. The ionizer then reduces the pollutants in your home by producing ozone. But there are some that claim that Ozone is a gas and is a major component in Smog.

Cell damage can be caused by Ozone in the nasal passages and lungs, and this can be a harmful threat to anyone that has a breathing disorder. Air purifiers are a benefit if they are what they claim they are. If, in fact, Ecoquest is making a product that does what they claim, then they should be able to sell them without any problem and you should be able to make some money doing this business.

They seem to be venturing in laundry purifiers and nutritional supplements now. Their nutrition products include sports nutrition and weight management. They also are involved in water purification systems.

Ecoquest seems to be disconnecting themselves from their predecessor, Alpine Industries. What some don’t realize, Alpine is the parent company for Ecoquest. When the Federal Trade Commission found out about the claims, they told them to stop. Well, the company didn’t stop all the way; they did post a warning label on the side of the purifier stating a new warning. But they didn’t stop making the claims that it relives asthma and respiratory problems.

There were some litigation between the company and the FTC and the company was fined $1.49 million on the health claim charges. I guess it doesn’t pay to sue the Federal Trade Commission when they have the upper hand.

So, needless to say, Ecoquest has not had the best reputation to work with. They have a network marketing system in place and have even tried to sell them door to door to get their name out as Ecoquest, and again distancing themselves from the Alpine Industry name.

In their business opportunity end of things, they provide you with the ability to do retail sales or you can help others build their business. They offer incentives such as travel dollars, company funded travel and expense program. They offer a luxury bonus car and annual profit sharing. Another incentive they have is trips to exotic places all over the world as a vacation for you. And they offer earnings from 6 to 42 on your group activity.

As with any other MLM business program, they all seem to be the same. If you work hard and stay committed, you will make some money. If you think just by signing up a few recruits will do it for you, then you will be disappointed. Check out the company and review them compensation plan. Is this a company that you can feel confident with and represent them in such a way that those around you will want to purchase their products? Give it a try then, AFTER your research is done.

Can a WAHM or WAHG Make $ Doing Surveys?

Friday Nov 28, 2008

Have you ever wondered whether people actually make money doing those online surveys? I have joined a few survey services, and like one in particular, I receive offers by email each day. It’s a nice site called “Inbox Dollars”, click the button to the right see what that’s all about, and though you won’t get rich quick, you can make a little side money. And of course, you realize, that these people work with affiliate sites and if you sign up for something, they make a bit of money, and give you a little bit of that money.

You should never have to pay someone to join a survey site. Some people put together lists of survey sites, then charge you $30 or more just to have access to it, maybe some think this is worth it, but I fell for this once, and it wasn’t worth it to me.

/Here is a review on doing surveys to make money. I hope you enjoy!

A Review of Home Survey Workers

By: Brian Garvin

Wow, the Home Survey Workers website is pretty flashy for a company that deals in surveys. So of course when we were asked to do this review we were interested in learning more about their system. Will it be what you need to make some sort of secondary income? Will you be able to turn it into something full time? We aren t sure yet, but we’ll definitely share with you what we found.

What Questions Do You Need Answered

Because the Home Survey Workers seem to have all the answers all within there F.A.Q. Let s face it, we re all skeptical anymore after those three years of constant scams on the Internet. Heck, even now with phishing schemes circling our email accounts everyone is taking a step back and being very careful with what they read and or purchase.

So this is why we find it to be a crucial part of your research because not only will you be able to view answers to all the questions in your head, but you ll also learn more about the company. While there are only ten total answers to each question, we found them all to be helpful and we believe you will as well. Long story short, just go over there and take five minutes to read it. You’ll thank us later.

Getting a Taste Before You Start

It doesn’t matter if it s the Home Survey Workers website or another survey deal, you always want to see an example. Why? Well, if a site is promising you $5 $25 for one survey don’t you want to know how long it’s going to be? We don’t think you would enjoy this income avenue if it took you an hour to get paid $5. However, you’ll find a sample of their surveys right under the sample section located at the top of the page.

Is It Really The Perfect Job?

Well it really depends on who you talk to, but if you could possibly make $423 a day, wouldn’t you be interested? We aren’t really sure how they came up with that actual amount, but there has to be some sort of reason behind it. Towards the bottom, left hand side of the home page the different avenues you can take to make money with the Home Survey Workers program.

Surveys, focus groups, online orders, product reviews, and movie trailers are all available once you become a member of their site. You may be wondering if this is going to cost you any upfront money and the answer is, no. Just give them your name and email address before hand to get the rest of the information about their program.

Our Overall Analysis

When you first get to their website you might sit there and think, Wow, they look reputable. Especially with the nice professionally designed web page. While this may be true, we really want you to focus on the information that’s given to you after you have provided an email and address. Only then will you find the true content that will help you decide if this is for you.

Selling Avon, Is it Worth It?

Friday Sep 26, 2008

No matter what your age, if you’re a Grandmother, and you’re reading this, you know about Avon. It is a company that has been around for a long, long time. I am a representative, just selling to a few neighbors and enjoying some of the discounts representatives get. I like many of the products.

But as a business? Here’s a review for you to read if you are considering Avon with a few notes added by me in [brackets] as some things have changed since this review was written:

A Review Of The Avon Income Opportunity

By: Brian Garvin

Are you looking to work from home and heard that Avon was a great and easy way to make money? Avon is a great company and has some great products to sell. It seems to be very popular because every other day I have a new Avon catalog hanging from my door. There is a lot of competition with Avon.

It is a company that has been around a long time and is a network marketing company. An Avon sales representative will make more money if she is able to recruit me to her business. Then she will make a portion off of everything that I sell. The more sales she has including the volume in her down line; she will make more and I will be doing all the work.

Each month, you will have a certain quota [the percentage you make per order is determined by the total of your order] to meet in order to earn your commissions on your sales. As mentioned before, the more you sell, the more commission you will make.

Avon is a huge commitment and is not as easy as it looks. You don’t just have customers calling you for product. You will on the other hand, be making flyers, passing them out to your district, which has been assigned to you [you can sell anywhere, and even have an online website now]. You will then have to purchase samples, cards, bags, and everything else an Avon customer expects from their sales rep [very cheap though, ie I bought 100 small bags for 80 cents...but at the same time, the products are inexpensive, so unless you sell a lot, your income is relatively small].

The reason I know this is because I sold Avon for over a year. The first month I did great, had a lot of support from my supervisor, I was excited and calling all my family and friends to let them know I was selling Avon and to please order something to help me get started.

It was downhill from there, less sales, but a lot more work. You have to go to weekly meetings [no you don't, I haven't been to any meetings...but for a serious representative, it's not a bad idea, as they fill you in on the latest, and inspire you] where they will get you all excited to go out and sell again, and give prizes to the rep with the highest sales total. There you are encouraged to buy the new line of something that is going to be the main feature in the next catalog. So you are investing more money over time than you are actually making.

I had a storeroom that was so filled with Avon products that I ended up having a yard sale just to get some of my money back. [You can return products for credit...or sell them on eBay] I was selling the products below my wholesale because I needed the money. I couldn’t afford to sell Avon any longer. I wondered how the other reps seemed to do it. But as I got to know them, I realized that they were in the same position that I was in.

I can’t explain what the reasons are, but there is something that we, the sales reps are not told, are not able to create that success that you see the top people able to achieve. They seem to flaunt the small 10 of those that succeed, whether it is because they are investing thousands of their own money and therefore earning the accolade of achievement, I’m just not sure.

But they don’t let you know of the other 90 who are struggling and trying to figure out exactly what I have explained. How are they doing it? Why can’t I do this successfully? What am I doing wrong? Avon shouldn’t be this difficult to make money with.

I just think, through the entire network marketing sales programs I have tried, that none of them work. I thought Avon would be different, but it wasn’t. I have continued to gravitate towards network marketing because I had small children at home and I was trying to earn some extra money without having to leave them. But time and time again, I failed, but not by sitting doing nothing, because I worked very hard. I just can’t explain what it is. But there is a way to find out.

Business Opportunity Review: Fuller Brush

Tuesday Jul 8, 2008

I remember the Fuller Brush salesman coming to the door when I was very young, and Mom occasionally purchasing something from him. Door-to-door salesmen are really a thing of the past, at least where I live. But Fuller Brush is still alive and well, and now operating as a network marketing or multi-level marketing company. I found a review of this company, in fact the writer reviews MANY companies. I’m posting the Fuller Brush article below.

A Review of the Fuller Brush Income Opportunity

By: Brian Garvin

If you re looking to sign on with an outfit that has over 100 years worth of experience, then the Fuller Brush company might provide you with just the opportunity you have been looking for. The Fuller Brush salesman is a figure that has been found in televisions shows, movies and plays, but the fact is, this company has quite justifiably made itself a household name when it comes to cleaning products and domestic supplies.

The Fuller Brush company has a long history with the American public, one that started in 1906. Through a concentrated advertising program and with placement of salesmen in nearly every major and medium sized city in America, the Fuller Brush company had worked very hard to become one of an institution in the American landscape. If you’re looking for a company with an excellent track record and a long history, it would be hard to find one with a better list of credentials than the Fuller Brush company.

If you are interested in selling Fuller Brush products, it is important to note the fact that while there are still a few door to door opportunities available, much of the Fuller Brush merchandise is now available online. That being said, one of the ways that Fuller Brush invites people to get involved is through action as distributor from an in store location. Essentially, this is an opportunity for people who want to add Fuller Brush products to their business.

One of the main benefits you receive from selling Fuller Brush products is name recognition. You’ll find that older customers might still remember a time when the door to door salesmen were ubiquitous, while your younger customers will be able to smile and remember the jokes and parodies of the Fuller Brush service. The products themselves have withstood the test of time, and it is to the Fuller Brush company s credit that they are continually working with their products to improve them. Fuller Brush cleaning products are rated quite high in modern cleaning tests.

It is true that the Fuller Brush company does not necessarily signify something flashy or modern, but then it doesn’t necessarily need to. You’ll find that the Fuller Brush name is actually associated in most people’s mind with a bygone era, and you’ll also find that a bit of nostalgia doesn’t do your sales any harm. While this aren’t the most exciting products to sell, you’ll find the name recognition goes a long way towards making these products popular.

When signing up as a rep for the Fuller Brush company, make sure you don’t do it just because this rep is the company super star. Make sure you go sponsor hunting and conduct a few upline interviews. They must be available for three way calls to prospects. They don’t have to be a Brian Garvin or Jeff West but they should at least have some grounded knowledge in the Internet Marketing field.

Before you join anything like this, do your research. Make sure that people will appreciate all the hours you spend building this new business.
